COVID-related Announcements

Looks like the COVID-19 virus will be here for a while and we may have to postpone or cancel some of the usual club events.

  • The spring banquet will remain on hold until further notice.
  • The Vince Herding Youth Fishing Derby and the Dick Bell Catfish Derby are on hold until further notice as well.
  • Depending on how long the COVID-19 virus affects our activities, we may need to address the June Family Fishing Night
  • Permits coming out of the NDGF are on hold for now; no permits are being issued through May at this time.

Community Support

Is there something the club could do to support the local community at this time?

  • We used the April 16 meeting for generating ideas; no decisions have been made.
  • One idea was to purchase gift cards through the Chamber of Commerce’s Gift Card Blitz for the Smoker www.southernvalleystrong.com if anyone is interested
  • Please send any suggestions you may have!

Election of Officers in May – how to proceed

  • Greg G will be sending out communication to membership if anyone has interest in holding an office.
  • He will also reach out to existing office holders for interest in continuing

Fishing Piers and Docks

  • NDGF recommends not to install the fishing piers and docks until further notice
  • Mooreton Pond docks need some decking maintenance. Greg G has spoken with Builders First Source about marine grade materials. Rich will check with Fastenal about stainless steel hardware.

Sponsorship of TRACKS Magazine for the schools

  • Greg G will follow up with Wayne to see if any requests have been made; no requests have otherwise been received by the Club directly.

Urban Deer Bow Hunt

  • This has been tabled at the local level until after Covid-19 subsides
  • More discussion will be had at the local level, and as that information comes available, it will be passed along to membership.

Breckenridge Fishing Team

  • Request for support, any amount appreciated
  • Team is looking to purchase jerseys for new team members.
  • Greg B will look into previous donations
  • Will table until next month to review again, and will hopefully have more information on whether or not there will be a season for the youth.
