Board of Directors Reports
President
- Review of the building committee’s visit to 501 Dakota Ave (former Bank of the West) Building in too much disrepair and would cost too much to fix up (floors, roof, basement, etc). The yearly taxes would be around $12,000.
- Discussed other options around town and also that there are grants available if we just the building for shooting sports.
Treasurer
- Checking balances are $88,853.61 between all accounts.
- Almost everything has been transferred to the new checking account but around $4,500.
- Received a check from Wayne Beyer for $25 for Dave Langenwalter memorial.
- MSC (Rich, Curt) to approve.
General Committee Reports
Parks & Recreation
- Brushvale dock is not in and people have been asking about it. Mironowski usually does it but the water has been too high.
- The Parks department is understaffed right now which is why the Red River docks are not in yet.
- Check presented from the club for $4,000 towards the Knights Shelter updates including cabinets.
Mooreton Pond
- All docks are in. Rich was able to get the new floats on the last one.
Jr. Wildlife Club
- Fishing & Fish Cleaning Demonstrations – 7 kids attended and almost all caught a fish.
- August 8 (new date) at the Chahinkapa Zoo
Public Relations
- Upcoming Community Events – NDSCS Block Party August 25, Headwaters Parade September 7, NDSCS Homecoming Parade October 5
Air Rifle
- Brian Gefre may have a contact for someone who has a current program running that we could reach out to.
Sportsmen’s Smoker – Saturday, October 19 doors will open at 4 p.m. this year.
- Posters, tickets and donation materials are all ready – contact Rich or Becci
- Additional 10 prize raffle plus regular smoker tickets.
- Guns will be registered through Trigger and all winners will receive redemption certificates with an expiration date.
- An email will be sent out with information about tickets, donations, ect.
- New games this year – more information coming
- All donations will need to be collected by October 1 this year.
Seasonal Committee Reports
- Need a new chairperson for this summer’s Brunks Carp & Sucker derby in August.

- Thank you from the MN DNR for rearing ponds.
- Fish submissions – Chuck Haus 21” sheephead and 18” smallmouth bass, Charlie Smith 14.5” crappie, Carter Gerou 10.5” sunfish and 20” walleye
