  • Pollinator house building held this evening – 9 youth attended – Extra house will be donated to Chahinkapa Zoo – Committee to meet soon for next year’s calendar of event

Fishing / Hunting Events

  • Neil Heitkamp Ice Fishing Derby (Vern Shasky, Cindie Van Tassel) – Feb 19, 2022
  • Vince Herding Youth Fishing Derby (Rich & Becci Truesdell) – May 1, 2021 – 80 youth participated and enjoyed nice weather – lots of suckers caught as well as a few carp
  • Dick Bell Catfish Derby (Justin Kratz) – Jun 5, 2021 @ Kidder Rec, 7AM to 11AM – volunteers needed. Will be needing a new chairperson next year.
  • Family Fishing Nights (Cindie Van Tassel) – TBD for 2021. 8-10 volunteers would be needed each week (one week per month, June-August) in order to proceed with requesting permits. Discussed possibility to have reduced evenings; no decision made; number of volunteers would impact this decision, youth are interested – also discussed possibility of making this a Jr Wildlife activity.
  • Brunk’s Carp & Sucker Derby (Greg Gerou, Wayne Beyer) – Aug 4, 2021 @ Kidder Rec – volunteers needed. Looking for interest in a future chairperson for this event.
  • Fall Youth Goose Hunt (Dylan Teberg, Cindie Van Tassel) – TBD for 2021
  • Veterans Hunt (Abby Carlson, Mary Rausch) – Sep 11 and 12, 2021
  • Marv Manock Youth Waterfowl Hung (Kevin Manock) – Sep 18, 2021 @ Tewaukon

  • Membership drive – we currently have less than 100 paid members
  • Please consider bringing guests or potential new members to the September meeting this fall!
  • Looking for opportunities to engage 16-18 year olds (Jr Wildlife is through age 15); please share any ideas with one of the committee members
  • RRASC will try a mailer to increase membership in additional to email/social media communication

Old / New / Unfinished Business

  • Reloading Supplies – Recob’s reloading supplier is not able to fill orders at this time
  • Bench recognition plaque name nominations. Plan is to have multiple names per plaque – 5 benches will need plaques. Nominations received: Randy Hovde, Vince Herding, Mike Fenske, Jeff Trom, Larry Brunkhorst, Marv Manock, Randy Hoerer (MSC Brad, Jerry), Wayne Beyer (MSC Becci, Cindie). We have been quoted $25 per plaque so far; looking at a couple other options as well – plaques have been made and are pending being added to the benches – name plates are still pending.
  • Pop-up online store (Abby) – Can be used as a fundraiser for the club, pending Board review. Online clothing store; will include stickers, koozies, coffee mugs, etc
  • Club member Randy Hoerer – passed away on 4/26/2021
  • Wood Duck Nesting Boxes at Tewaukon Refuge have been installed and most are occupied. Manager said they will take more, they have a lot of place for boxes. Del Hoefs made contact with a source for additional boxes – $25 each for double houses (cedar). We have 8 Jr Wildlife houses (pine) left in storage; will get those to Tewaukon and will look into additional houses next year
  • Consider grant funding for the Outdoor Adventure Foundation. $500 sponsorship, MSC Jerry, Joe b. https://outdooradventurefoundation.org/ – if you would like to learn more about this foundation.
