Board of Directors Reports

President

  • Mooreton Sportsmen’s Club Annual Turkey Shoot – September 1 starting at 12pm
  • Requested a syrup donation from Cargill & plates, napkins, cups from Ag Country for youth hunt breakfasts
  • Bruce Eckre’s father passed away August 2

Treasurer

  • $96,303 total between all accounts ($78,675 checking, $10,628 Thrivent, $7,000 cash) MSC (Rich/Joe)

Secretary

  • Opportunity for the club to support the Bailey Bernstein 5k on October 4. Original suggestion $250 (Cindie/Pat) did not pass. Suggestion to do enough for the next level at $300 sponsorship – MSC (Kelly/Justin)

Board of Directors

  • Justin – ND is now requiring a $5 mandatory waterfowl e-stamp. There will also be new out-of-state regulations (two 7 day licenses must be in different zones 14 days total)

General Committee Reports
Park & Recreation

  • New stainless table in the kitchen that has a commercial can opener.

Jr. Wildlife Club

  • August 21 – Zoo Tour
    • Tom and Zoo Keepers gave tour to 15 kids
  • Next month is Maplewood State Park

Public Relations

  • NDSCS Block Party – August 25. Feel like it would be a good opportunity to sell some raffle tickets and be more visible to the community. Yes – Cindie and Melissa offered to man it with assistance of setup from Becci.
  • Upcoming Community Events – September 13 Headwaters, NDSCS Homecoming October 4,
    Zoo Boo October 25
    • Cindie has ordered giveaways for Zoo Boo
  • Please use the new canopy, table cloth and sail flag at all club events and those events we go to
  • Please remember to share your photos with the club (redriverareasportsmen@gmail.com) and follow and share our social posts.

Smoker

  • Tickets and Posters are available.
  • We need lots of help collecting donations this year.
  • Lots of volunteers are needed for Friday and Saturday of the event for setup and games. Anyone interested in running the kitchen crew, reach out to Rich.
  • Working with KBMW on digital marketing for smoker.
  • Community Center & St Johns have been confirmed.
  • Trying out the new punchout game this year, cutting back on a few of the old ones
  • Driftwood will be doing the bar again

Seasonal Committee Reports

  • Becci will set up the online registration again for the Waterfowl and Pheasant hunts and send out emails for all three
  • MN Youth Goose Hunt – September 13 & 14
  • Youth Waterfowl Hunt – September 19 & 20
    • 20 kids. Need mentors and breakfast help.
  • Youth Pheasant Hunt – October 3 & 4
    • 15 kids. Greg working with Richland County Pheasants about covering birds for the youth hunt.
  • Band of Brothers – October 10
  • Ladies Rooster Round-up – October 18

Internal Club Contests

  • Andrew Schumacher – 11” Largemouth, 16.5” Drum

Other Upcoming Area Events

  • September 27 – Twist of Fate Hunt with Live and Silent Auction that evening

Communication/Correspondence

  • To use the Econofoods charge account it will require everyone to use an account card. Greg will ask for enough for the board and those that head up events.
